A model needs an agency to represent him or her. Yes, there can be independent models and we do see quite a lot of them. But, a model is bound to get better opportunities if he/she is associated with a particular modeling agency.

There are clients who are constantly in need of models to display their products and services and these clients mostly go through agencies. An independent model has that disadvantage unless they have very good connections around the modeling circle.

An independent model may not be equipped to follow a thorough search on the client whereas; an agency has the resources and the expertise to follow up a check. This will help in revealing all that is to know for the agencies before passing on the job to their models.

We may think that finding a model is not hard but it is not about that. The thing that modeling agencies focus on is; delivering exactly what the client wants. In most cases the clients and the agencies develop a long term bond. This paves the way for aspiring models with the drive and passion to succeed. In India we notice a growing trend where many models have ventured into acting. Let’s face it; modeling is not a lifelong career. A girl cannot go on paying her bills from the money she makes from modeling. Once you get older that is the end of many modeling career. This is why there is always a need for a backup plan to fall back on when your face does not pay your bills anymore.
