Learning the Truth behind Some Common Misconceptions about Pole Dancers

Pole dancing is one of the most complex dance forms as the performers are required to give an exotic performance, centered on a fixed pole. Although pole dancing has been practiced internationally for past several decades, in India this dance form has become popular in the recent years only. There are several professional pole dancers in Delhi who are hired for performing at private parties and functions.

Contrary to what many people believe pole dancing is not just about doing some dance moves around a pole. Rather this dance form combines the dance moves with acrobatics to create stunningly sensuous effect. The dance form actually helps in keeping the performers fit as they go through a complete body work-out every time they give a dance performance. In fact, it is not uncommon for an international pole dancer to take part in sports events like gymnastics, which require them to have a highly flexible and fast body movement.

Another misconception that people normally have is that there only women can take up the profession of a pole dancer. Nothing can be farther from truth as some of the most renowned international pole dancers are men. Although, this trend is not yet popular in India, there are quite a few men pole dances who are making a name for themselves in this field in India as well. In fact, many observers even feel that men are better at performing this dance form than their women counterparts.
Many people also believe that pole dancing does not require any special training and can be taken up by people with basic dancing skill. Not only is this untrue, but it can actually prove quite dangerous for the performers. Unlike in India, it is mandatory for a foreign pole dancer to undergo proper training before they can perform publicly. This is because even a slightest mistake during performance can not only cause severe injury, but can actually prove fatal.
