The Evolution of the Fashion Industry

Although fashion is still at its infancy in India it is an industry that is growing rapidly. Just ask anyone here, they will know something or the other about fashion. Today we see Indian designers who are globally acclaimed as well. This outcome has led to the fact that our franchises are now being exported to places all around the world.

The launch of Indian Fashion Week has also contributed greatly in exposing the rich ethnic of Indian culture. And we also see our designers competing in the international levels.

 

Changing Trends

Every individual wants to look good and we all sub-consciously want to feel accepted by the society or in a group. In recent years fashion has evolved into a wide spectrum. The evolution has been a contribution of many factors such as the change in the need of consumers, the socio-economic changes and so on.

Fashion is more about following a trend and the definition can differ from one person to the next. Style on the other hand is a form of self expression. Designers are continually exploring into different horizons to come up with the next big thing.

The expanse in the fashion industry has also led to the introduction of many jobs. Anything that involves an individual working and then getting paid for the work can be considered a job. The changing trends in fashion have given rise to the need of more and more models to display those creations by designers.

 

There are a good number of modeling agencies in Delhi that has contributed to the grooming of models in Delhi who has even gone on to the levels of international modeling. Unlike the earlier times when models were only considered as walking hangers, we now see them given a higher status. Some models are even within the circle of celebrated personalities.

When we talk of franchises being exported, it also involves exporting of our models to foreign countries. These models start working for international designers in the fashion capitals such as New York, Paris, Milan, Tokyo and London.  

In India we notice a growing trend where many models have ventured into acting. Let’s face it; modeling is not a lifelong career. A girl cannot go on paying her bills from the money she makes from modeling. Once you get older that is the end of many modeling career. This is why there is always a need for a backup plan to fall back on when your face does not pay your bills anymore.
